I know we're discussing Marin's book, but I have another recommendation, a young adult novel I just finished by Nick Burd called
The Vast Fields of Ordinary. It's about a gay teenager coming out in the suburbs of Iowa. There's a subtle beauty to the writing, and the story feels so real you just keep turning pages until you're done. I won't say any more about it than that. Thanks to my friend
